Install on Linux

Pick the AppImage for any distribution, the .deb for Ubuntu and Debian, or the .rpm for Fedora and openSUSE. All three come for x64 and ARM64.

Get the file from Download. Every format comes for x64 and ARM64. The commands below show the file name pattern: use the exact name of the file you downloaded, with its version number in place of <version>.

AppImage (any distribution)

  1. Open a terminal in the folder with the file.

  2. Make it executable:

    chmod +x Aydria_<version>_amd64.AppImage
  3. Start it:

    ./Aydria_<version>_amd64.AppImage

If it won't start on Ubuntu 22.04 or later, it's missing FUSE 2. Install it, then try again (on Ubuntu 24.04 the package is called libfuse2t64):

sudo apt install libfuse2

.deb (Ubuntu, Debian)

  1. Open a terminal in the folder with the file.

  2. Run:

    sudo apt install ./Aydria_<version>_amd64.deb

apt installs anything that's missing, and Aydria shows up in your app menu.

.rpm (Fedora, openSUSE)

  1. Open a terminal in the folder with the file.

  2. On Fedora, run:

    sudo dnf install ./Aydria-<version>-1.x86_64.rpm

    On openSUSE, run this instead:

    sudo zypper install ./Aydria-<version>-1.x86_64.rpm

On ARM64, the file names say arm64 or aarch64 where you see amd64 or x86_64 above.

Check the file

Run sha256sum followed by the file name, and compare the result with the checksum on the download page. If they match, the file is exactly the one we published. The checksums are also signed with minisign, if you like to check that too.

Your vault on Linux

There's no Touch ID on Linux, so Aydria keeps your vault key in your system keyring (the Secret Service, like GNOME Keyring or KWallet), unlocked with a password. Most desktops run one already. If yours doesn't, install one before you set up your vault. More in Unlocking your vault.

A Flathub version comes later.
