Cookie policy
Aydria uses no tracking cookies, so there’s no cookie banner. Here’s exactly what is stored in your browser, and why.
Why there’s no banner
Dutch law (article 11.7a of the Telecommunications Act) says a website needs your permission before it stores anything on your device, unless it’s strictly necessary for something you asked for. Everything we store is strictly necessary, and our website statistics don’t use cookies at all. So there’s nothing to ask permission for, and no banner in your way.
We don’t use advertising cookies, social media pixels, cross-site tracking or Google Analytics. Not on the website and not in the app.
On aydria.com
To count visits we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It doesn’t set cookies, doesn’t store anything in your browser, and doesn’t follow you around the web. It counts page views from the address of the page, where you came from, your browser type and your country.
| Name and type | What it’s for, and for how long |
|---|---|
aydria-lang-bannerLocal storage, not a cookie | What for: Remembers that you closed the banner offering this site in the other language, so it doesn’t come back. How long: Until you clear your browser data. |
__cf_bmCookie, set by Cloudflare | What for: Tells people from bots, to protect the site from attacks. Only set when Cloudflare’s bot protection needs it. How long: 30 minutes. |
cf_clearanceCookie, set by Cloudflare | What for: Remembers that you passed a security check, so you don’t get another one straight away. Only set if you were shown one. How long: 30 minutes. |
On forms, like the newsletter and contact form, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you’re not a bot. It isn’t used for tracking or advertising.
In the app
This covers app.aydria.com and the desktop apps.
| Name and type | What it’s for, and for how long |
|---|---|
sb-…-auth-tokenCookie | What for: Keeps you signed in. Without it, you’d have to sign in on every page. How long: Until you sign out. It renews while you use the app. |
__Host-aydria-csrfCookie | What for: Protects your account against cross-site request forgery: it makes sure a change really comes from the Aydria app, not from another website. How long: Until you close your browser. |
aydria-themeLocal storage, not a cookie | What for: Remembers whether you chose light, dark or your system’s setting. How long: Until you clear your browser data. |
__stripe_mid__stripe_sidCookies, set by Stripe | What for: Only on the checkout. Stripe uses them to prevent fraud when you pay. How long: 1 year and 30 minutes. |
The app also keeps a few things on your device because the features you use need them:
- Your secrets vault, encrypted. In the browser it’s in your browser’s own database. In the desktop apps it’s in an encrypted database, with the key in your system’s keychain. We can’t read it.
- A copy of your cases, so the desktop app can show them when you’re offline.
Product analytics in the app don’t use cookies or browser storage either, and you can switch them off in Settings.
If this ever changes
If we ever want to use a tool that needs your permission, we’ll build a proper consent choice first. Nothing that isn’t strictly necessary will run until you say yes. Saying no will be as easy as saying yes, and you’ll be able to change your mind at any time. We’ll update this page before that happens.
Clearing what’s stored
You can delete cookies and local storage in your browser’s settings at any time. If you do, you’ll be signed out of the app, and the language banner may show up once more.
